This study has the objective to study the differences between students with driving license and students without driving license in regards to reaction time, the relationship between extraversion and reaction time as well as gender differences for the “conscientiousness” personality trait. Method: This study involved 70 students aged between 18 and 25 years (M = 19.94, SD = 1.48), including 42 women and 28 men from both rural (15) and urban areas (55). The instruments used are the BIG FIVE MARKERS IPIP and DT reaction time.
Results: Statistically significant differences were found on reaction time for students with driving license and those without driving license, there being a significant relationship between extraversion and reaction time and significant differences in respect to the “conscientiousness” factor for women and men. Conclusions: These results are supported by the literature, several authors finding significant gender differences on the “conscientiousness” factor, several relationships between extraversion and reaction time and differences in reaction time for people with driving license and people without driving license.
